Career Planning Process

Introduction:

Choosing a career as a career consultant and client is a big deal. It’s more than just deciding what to do to survive. When you think about the time you will spend at work, it will become clear that this decision is such a big deal. About 71% of each year is expected to be at work. Throughout your life, it turns out to be about 31 1/2 years out of 45 years that you will probably be able to work from the beginning of your career until retirement. Don’t underestimate the importance of choosing your career, which is good for you.

To increase your chances of finding a satisfying career, follow the four steps of the career planning process:

Step 1. Self-Assessment

During this phase, you will use various resources to gather information about yourself. Learn about you:

Interest:

Enjoy what you do.

Work-related values:

Thoughts and beliefs that are important to you and guide your actions.

Personality type:

Your social symptoms, motivation, strengths and weaknesses, and attitudes

Error:

A natural talent or ability to learn through training and education

Favorite work environment:

The type of workplaces you prefer, for example, indoor or outdoor, office or factory, and noisy or quiet

Development Requirements:

Your seriousness related skills may affect the nature of the training or education, you can complete and how you can work.

Facts:

Circumstances that have affected your ability to train for occupation or work. You will identify the career, that may be better for you during self-assessment, but you can make the final decision. Before that, you will need more information.

Step 2. Career Research:

Career research focuses on learning about professionals, who prove to be a good fit based on the results of your own assessment and any other business that interests you. Use online and print resources to get job descriptions; learn about specific job duties; and collect labor marketing information, including median pay and work perspectives.

After completing this initial research, you can start eliminating businesses that do not appeal to you and find out more about them. This is an ideal time to conduct informative interviews and arrange job-related opportunities. During an information interview, you will ask people who work in the occupation. Who has asked you questions about their jobs? Follows up around someone working around in the shadow of the job so they do.

Step 3. Match:

Finally, it’s time to make a match! During Phase 3 you will decide, that what you have learned during Phase 1 and 2 self-assessment and career research, is what is best for you. Identify the occupation in which you are most interested, and there are one or two alternatives to which to return, for whatever reason, you cannot pursue your first choice.

Seriously you have the costs associated with your chosen career, education, and training, and you will face any obstacles. If you need to find your options before making a decision, go to Step 2. Once you choose a career, you can go through 4 steps, which will lead you to your first job in your new career.

Step 4. Action:

During this phase, you will write a career action plan. This phase will serve as a guide to reach your ultimate goal of getting a job in a well-matched profession. Indicate, how long you will have to reach long-term and short-term goals to reach the final one.

What you need to know about the career planning process:

It is important to note that the career planning process never ends. At various points in your career, you may have to go back to the beginning or at any stage to resume yourself and your goals. For example, you may decide to change your profession or you may find out how you want to improve your existing practices.
